With the constant advancements in technology, keeping up with trends and adapting to new equipment is essential to any photography business that wants to be successful in the current business environment. Over the last few years, the newest and hottest trend has become aerial photography. With the availability of top of the line drones configured with outstanding cameras, aerial photography has become much more sought after and almost expected by clients.

With the addition of a drone to a photographer’s arsenal, the possibilities are almost endless. Gone are the days of climbing on rooftops or into trees to attempt to get the perfect angle for a shot. With the incredible dexterity and stability of drones, it can be maneuvered into the perfect position to shoot from any angle with the photographers feet planted firmly on the ground.

Although we have decades of experience in aerial photography, we recently ventured into the drone photography world with the purchase of the new DJI Inspire II Drone and Zenmuse X7 camera. The very first shoot for our new flying companion was for Leo A Daly at the new City National Arena where the Las Vegas Golden Knights practice.

This incredible facility was very difficult to shoot from the ground.  The aggressive landscaping around the building made creative composition nearly impossible. Having the drone available to us quickly solved all the issues and provided additional shots that could never have been attempted otherwise.

One of the most incredible things about the Inspire II is that it can fly pretty much anywhere, including indoors. It was a bit of a challenge taking off and landing on the icy arena surface, but the results were fantastic.

We are still in the early stages of exploring all the incredible features this new drone and camera have to offer and are very excited to see what comes next.
